I arrived at the Gold Coast airport not very hungry or inquisitive so the large vegan food prompt by ‘Velocity Espresso and Bar’ was a welcomed sign as I meant I didn’t need to go searching for food.

I asked for vegan options and was directed towards the burger, wrap and salad by the very informative and helpful staff and found the chia pudding, fruit cups and energy balls upon further inspection.

They were promoting juices heavily, of which I had no interest but I’m sure there were many customisable options. I was told the salad and wrap had the same contents and as a wrap enthusiast, it was what I chose.

It had unadulterated fresh lettuce, quinoa, corn, capsicum, beans and carrot and perhaps even some attempt at a sauce as the wrap had a green, suspiciously avocado-like twinge. There’s not much to say otherwise as what you see is what you get, it tastes as healthy as it looks. The beans is what you taste most of, followed by the lettuce. It could however, really do with a sauce, even if it’s just a basic barbecue or mayo. It was overpriced but it’s freshness was it’s redeeming factor, I also liked how accessible it was, I would certainly get it again if I was in a pinch.

I also got a very strong Iced long black from Aromas Tea & Coffee Merchants. It was good coffee for a reasonable airport price and exactly what I needed before the flight.
